Artist Statement:

Glenn Schumpert is a multidisciplinary abstract artist whose work examines the emotional, spiritual, and cultural weight carried within color, texture, and form. Working primarily in mixed media, Glenn creates layered compositions that explore memory, faith, resilience, and personal becoming. Each piece is built through intentional mark making, physical texture, and intuitive color relationships that reflect inner landscapes, moments of pressure, healing, growth, and reflection. His work is not meant to be decoded, but felt. Beyond his artistic practice, Glenn is a creative director, educator, and community leader committed to empowering young creatives and building spaces rooted in purpose, access, and transformation. His lived experiences in education, nonprofit leadership, and cultural advocacy deeply inform the narratives embedded in his work.
