About the Event
About the Artist:
Jeremy Myles was born and raised in Detroit, MI, where he started his journey into art with drawing and painting. As he continued pursuing art, clay became of interest when he learned that he could give new life to the art he created in the form of tangible 3-dimensional objects. Jeremy is currently the Artist in Residence at Mighty Mud, and a 2023 NCECA Multicultural Fellow. He continues to pursue his art by teaching around Tennessee at Mighty Mud, The Bottom, and Knoxville Museum of Art.
"Everyone has a Story. Though the meaning of each piece is not stated; this exhibition entitled "Story" is a collection of pieces that have different significant meanings within my story. My road so far and road to come. The more I observe my growth through art, the more I see my Story reflected in it."
Jeremy's works will be on display in at The Bottom througout the month of August. You can also visit Mighty Mud gallery to view "Journey and Repetition" a larger exhibition of Jeremy's work in collaboration with Jake Ingram, his fellow Artist in Residence at Mighty Mud.
